Following the preliminary investigations lasting for nearly one and a half decades, the decision was made to construct the section of the M1 Motorway to bypass Győr town on the south. After this decision scarcely half year was available for preparation of the complete final design, however, the commencement of works had to be facilitated by the issuing of earthwork designs previously. The task was solved by use of the most up-to-date computer programs, and the designers promoted the realization of the project during construction by the way of supervision in the site. Correct co-operation between the consultants, contractors and the Engineer contributed to the high-level implementation of the motorway section having 26.50 m total width and 2x2 traffic lanes.
