Airport design
Location:
Principal:LRI – Air Traffic and Airport Administration, Investment Department
Year:1999
Revenue:
Concrete paving: 160x100 m
Number of aircraft: 3
Types of aircraft: Types A-D can park at an aircraft stand without any restriction
Site selection study including motion geometrical analysis of the potential aircraft types.
We identified the space requirement of providing outdoor aircraft stands in the area along Taxiway U, opposite to Stands 31-34 of Terminal 2B at Ferihegy Airport. The investigation covered the usable area, type of aircraft that can be parked and their motion geometrical parameters as well as the public service facilities involved.
It is the essentials of the design that the small aircraft are capable of manoeuvre into the remote aircraft stands self-propelled, while the category D aircraft can be hauled into the same places. Based on the presented options the Client is to judge that a paving of what dimensions could be used in an economic way according to the number and type of the aircraft to park there. The projected apron options coincide inasmuch as the aircraft stands are provided for with concrete-topped pavements in the design, while the service roads are foreseen to have asphalt-topped pavements.
